Weka/Tui Newsletter: Term 3 2026
Welcome back to term 3!
Technology
Technology starts back in Week 1 on Wednesday and will be on odd weeks. A reminder to be at School by 8.30 am and for students to be wearing covered shoes. (Some classes don’t require this; however, it is a good habit to get into).
Bus behaviour
We had a few issues towards the end of last term with students being inappropriate, shouting, and not listening on the bus ride to and from school/tech. Steph went with them on the last tech day to help remind and reinforce positive bus behaviour. We are hoping to have more positive feedback this term (their last day was great!). However, if students continue to display disrespectful behaviour on the bus and not listen to Lisa Murphy and the driver, parents will be required to provide their own transport to and from tech.
School Start Times
A reminder school starts at 8.50 am, and students benefit by being at School by 8.30 am to be ready for the day.

Diplomas
Students completed another end-of-term reflection for their diplomas in the last week of term 2. We have gone in and reviewed these and given them their score and feedback for term 2. This will be added to their overall diploma tally. They will be encouraged to bring these home to discuss and reset goals for term 3.
STEM lesson with Mr Wiz
Throughout the term, classes will be having half-day lessons (Fridays) doing STEM lessons with Mr Wiz (past teacher at Buckland School.) These will be instead of full days of release for classroom teachers.
Lunchtimes
Reminder about change of clothes for the field during Term 3 due to mud
Homework -
There will be some homework coming home this term - basic facts worksheets, reading and writing tasks, and topic-related work. This won't be too arduous. Students should be able to complete them independently as part of reinforcing knowledge and skills.
They also need to keep completing some Mathletics tasks, live Mathletics, and reading. Looking after animals and for those without animals the outdoor clock project.
Looking forward to a busy but great term!
