Our writing and handwriting programme is based around a character called "Casey Caterpillar" the language used to tell the story of her adventures, is the base for the correct letter formations that the children are taught. Please take the time to look at this information to help support this programme at home by using the same language.
Our New Entrant programme is based around Barbara Brann and teaches the fundamental skills children need for reading, writing and numeracy. This involves looking, listening, moving, talking and continued fine motor skills development.
Please take the time to fill out the information sheet provided in our New Entrant Information Pack, and give to us at school to help us to learn more about your child and their interests.
We will also run two afternoons each term, one to give practical information and activities on how you can help with reading at home, and another on transiting your 4 year old to school.
The Reading at Home pamphlet provides some basic and helpful information about how you can help your child at home with their reading, to support what they are learning at school. If you would like some more detailed or specific information, please feel free to contact us to make at time to meet with you.
Looking forward to a wonderful year with your child.
Angela, Christina and Sigrid
